The Christadelphian Faith
Welcome
to a page dedicated to the study of
the Bible and to explaining the beliefs of the Christadelphians. The
name means
Brethren in Christ. The objective of the Christadelphians is to get as
close as
possible to the Christianity of the First Century. To this effect, we
have no
central organisation, no clergy and most ecclesias throughout the world
own no
premises, but use local community centres or other public halls. A
summary of
our beliefs is as follows :-
- God
is One, not three (Deut 6:4, John 17:3,
1 Cor 8:6, 1 Tim 2:5)
- Jesus
Christ is the Son of God (not God the
Son) (Luke 1:35, John 14:28, Acts 2:22, Gal 4:4)
- The
Holy Spirit is God's active force, NOT
a separate person (Job 33:4, Luke 1:35, Acts 8:17&19, Acts
10:38)
- Man
is mortal and perishing, NOT an
immortal soul (Ezek 18:4, Eccl 3:19&20, 1 Cor 15:45&54)
- The
dead are unconscious, NOT alive in
heaven or hell (Job 3:11&14, Psa 6:5, Psa 146:4, Eccl
9:5,6&10)
- Hell
means the grave, NOT eternal torment
(Gen 37:35, Job 13:14, 1 Cor 15:55)
- Jesus
WILL return to earth to establish his
Kingdom (Isa 2:2-4, Dan 2:44, Zeph 3:8&9, Zech 14:9, Rev
2:25-27)
- The
dead will be raised at the last day
(Dan 12:2, 1 Cor 15:56, 1 Thess 4:16&17)
- Christ
will judge and reward those raised
up, upon his return (Matt 16:27, 1 Cor 4:5, 2 Tim 4:1, 2 Thess
1:7&8, Rev
22:12)
- The
righteous will live on earth for ever
(Psa 37:11,22&29, Prov 11:31, Matt 5:5, Rev 5:10)
- The
wicked face oblivion, not eternal
torment (Psa 37:20, Ma1 4:1&3, Matt 21:41, 2 Pet 2:12)
- The
Bible (as originally given to Man), is
divine and infalliable (Isa 8:20, John 10:35, 2 Tim 3:16&17, 2
Pet 1:21)
- A
believers baptism (total immersion) is
required for salvation (Mark 16:16, Gel 3:27, Acts 8:38, Rom 6:4)
